November Reading Wrap Up

Starting this month in a slump, I decided to read what felt right and put down anything that started to make me lose my love for reading. That said, November was a slow month full of light-hearted romantic comedies that made me love books again.

Dial A for Aunties by Jesse Q. Sutanto

This book gave me satisfaction similar to finishing a great home-cooked meal with the ones you love. A light-hearted read that makes you smile from the comedy but stay invested due to the suspense of figuring out if they get away with their crime and how. In the beginning, I was so invested in the subplot romance on top of the details that it gave me that warm feeling. Since I’m a control freak toward the middle, I began to get frustrated with all the simple mistakes that could have been prevented. However, by the end, I was shocked by the small twists and was smiling at how everything perfectly came together. Overall, I liked this book because it got me out of a reading slump and was perfect at representing family while still having a great storyline. I could see this book becoming a great movie if it ever makes it to the big screen.

All About Us by Tom Ellen

I randomly picked up this book because I liked the cover and was curious about the story since I had never seen anyone talk about it. I have never been more thankful for that small decision. A modern take on the classic Christmas Carol tale, this story follows Ben, a man who feels stuck in his current life. Contemplating his past choices the night of Christmas eve, he wakes up the next day, back in 2005, to truly test if he would be happier if moments in the past played out differently. This story has everything I love about romance, making it my top novel of the year. After closing this read, I left with a different perspective on real relationships and to cherish times while they are still in motion. Everything about All About Us exceeded my expectations and gave me all the feels. Please read this book if you can!! I promise you won’t regret it 🙂

I am so excited about all the Christmas reads that have filled my TBR, and I can’t wait to share my thoughts in the new year 🙂

With Love,

Ellen
